For a manager or a team leader, it can be difficult to provide accurate performance reviews, without sounding harsh. For that purpose, there are some performance review phrases that help to convey the message and are not considered the other way by the employees. In the end, any firm wants to have performance reviews but it should not compromise the zeal or efforts of any employee or any manager for that matter.

As per my opinion, I believe that his promotion to the post of team leader will be fruitful and lead to improved productivity from the team.
